Farming, Skinning and Playing the AH
The only good way to make wow gold during Winter Veil is to supply players with quest items and crafting materials. Many of you have noticed the insane buyout prices on certain items during this holiday event. Perhaps the most dramatic price increase happens with the Small Eggs, so these should be prioritized. They are easy to farm and sell fast!
Here's the basic items that will be more valuable:
Small Egg
The best source for Small Eggs is the auction house when it's not Winter Veil or Children's Week. If you prefer farming, Feral Dragonhawks, with a 100% drop rate should be the mobs to farm! Even alliance can farm in the zone because it's deserted, except maybe now...
Rugged Leather (Skinning)
Because this leather has such a high value even when it's not Winter Veil, the only logical choice would be to farm it and not flip it. Here's the best places to farm Rugged Leather.
Dire Maul North: Gordok Mastiff
Blasted Lands: Redstone Basilisk, Snickerfang Hyena, Felhound
Winterspring: Ice Thistle Yeti
Wool Cloth
Wool is also expensive all year around, so it's wise to farm this one too. Thankfully there are instant respawn farms for Wool Cloth. If you have tailoring, it's wise to create some Bolts of Wool also.

Runecloth
Runecloth is a bit more popular, so theres lots of cheap deals available. Check the auction house when you have the chance and you will have bags full of it in no time! Like with wool, you should also make some Runecloth Bolts, if you have tailoring.

Ice Cold Milk
This is a regular drink that can be bought from a vendor, such as innkeepers. There's players out there that buy it from the auction house instead. Make sure to keep a stack or two available, and list them in stacks of 2 or 3. You can sell them for even 5-10 gold each!
Companion Pets
What is the best item you can wrap into a gift? Pets! Whatever pets you still have in your bank, now is the time to sell them. If you don't know where to get pets, click on the Pets gold making category on the left.
Winter Veil Gold Guide - Part 2 - Craftables
There's more gold to be made if you utilize crafting professions. Some items will be more valuable when it's not the holiday, such as Winter clothes in most cases. There's a huge spike in the prices during the first days, but soon those clothes will be too cheap for any good profit to be made.

These can be made with Tailoring (250).

Stocking up on copper bars is also a good idea, if you plan to craft the Winter Boots. Copper will tend to spike as well during the start of Winter's Veil.
I didn't see much of an impact on copper bars last time around. But the point is good, copper bars/ores are a gold maker every day!
Thanks for the tips. I've recently started using your ideas and have been making money hand over fist. While it's not what some consider "big money", I've made more money in the last 3 weeks than I've made in the previous last year. On the first day of Winter Veil, I was able to make 2k just on selling Bolts of wool and runecloth alone. 2 minutes of AH work for 2k, I'll take it. Thanks again!
