In my recent guest post on Kuja's Gold Mine, Flipping Twink Gear, I advocated the use of the addon Auctionator to search for level 77 Twink gear to flip on the AH. This is only the tip of the iceberg as far as the usefulness of this addon goes. Used correctly, Auctionator can easily do things that no other addon can!
Searching for Craft Items
As a WoW player you probably have a crafter that has needed to gather materials to craft an item. Auctionator includes a functionality that lets you search for the items needed to craft a certain item, as well as the item itself, to compare the costs of crafting and easily buy. How to do this is listed below.
While having the Auction house window open, find the item you're interested in crafting in your profession window. For me it's Icy Prism. In the craft window click the [AH] button.
This will bring up a window that looks like this, searching for all the individual mats of Icy Prism:
*Note: For those of you who don't know, Icy Prism is not something you can buy on the AH.
Here you have the option to Save this Shopping List, if you don't want to have to click the AH button every time you do this search. I wouldn't buy at these prices, but if you chose to you can click on each item and individually buy as many or as few as you want, as shown below.
Once you're done Buying as many as you need you can hit the Back button to return to the page with all the separate addons. The sky is the limit for this one, there are many creative ways to make shopping lists and Auctionator is a great addon to use for all your bulk purchasing. It's a great supplement to TSM!

I'm a long time user of Auctioneer but I'm tempted to switch to Auctionator. The shopping list is attractive. Cheers
A good tip, and one I have used for a while. However if you use Skillet with Auctionator it looks like you lose this feature.
An alternative is using the Undermine Journal to show the cost of making an item, although this data could be up to an hour out of date.
Greygamer is right, Skillet covers up the functionality. I added the Oil's Sparky adding that lists the mats in a window with current AH prices, assuming you are doing your daily scans of the AH and the adding is configured correctly. I got the original tip on Lil Sparky from the Gold Queen.
mainly at marcus... run both they run in parallel fine... I use auctionator for all searches selling and buying... its that good... its only problem is its database will be frequently very missleading... for auction house scan data, that and snatch list is all I was using auctioneer for...
Yeah I would definitely choose Auctionator over Auctioneer. I like the interface a lot better, and for buying it's a lot more useful. Also the developers of Auctionator tend to be on top of their updates faster than Auctioneer when new patches come out, which is always a plus.
